We provide a supportive, structured, and uplifting environment for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. The primary purpose of the Instructor position is to support participants through life skills training, meaningful social connection, and community-based habilitation services that promote independence and quality of life.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Help maintain a clean, neat, and organized program environment.
Prepare, adapt, and support instructional materials, visual aids, and room displays.
Assist with inventory, care, and maintenance of supplies and equipment.
Provide supervision and support to ensure participant safety and well-being.
Assist with daily living activities as needed, including personal hygiene support, meal preparation, socialization, and housekeeping tasks.
Complete required documentation, including daily logs and reports of routine or unusual events.
Maintain confidentiality at all times.
Participate in staff training, staff meetings, and special events as assigned.
Maintain regular and reliable attendance as an essential job function.
Support safety compliance by participating in required drills and trainings (fire drills, CPR, AED, and related safety requirements).
Assist the Lead Instructor in creating and delivering meaningful daily activities.
Work with the team to maintain a professional and welcoming facility appearance.
Support participant safety during transportation, bus rides, and community outings.
A genuine passion for helping others, integrity, a positive attitude, and strong character.
Flexibility with scheduling and daily program needs.
Ability to follow participant protocols and all safety and supervision requirements.
Reliable transportation and valid insurance.
Ability to pass a criminal and caregiver background check.
High school diploma or GED.
At least one year of experience working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
Flexible and able to adjust to changing routines.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Professional appearance and attitude.
Ability to work well as a collaborative team member.
Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
Light lifting and carrying, with frequent bending and stooping.
Work may include frequent interruptions.
Ability to maintain emotional control in stressful situations.
Occasional after-hours work and meeting attendance may be required.
May include assisting with hygiene or self-help needs during emergency situations.
